Throughout Ethiopia – even in remote regions where few others go, we are seeing wonderful fruit that is taking root and growing.
Let me share just one story…
The father of this family had been sick for months – so sick he was unable to walk, let alone hold down a job. The mother’s meager income could barely put food on the table, least of all fund their children’s education. “Our children are young and do not understand how expensive school is,” the mother told EHC workers who knocked on her door to share Christ with the family. “When they watch other children walking to school, they cry and ask why they cannot go. It is heartbreaking. If only my husband could work!”
The EHC workers each shared their own personal testimony about how the love of Christ changed their lives. They invited the family to receive Christ. As the EHC workers prayed over the man’s poor health, he felt a renewed strength. For the first time in months he stood to his feet and he walked!
The whole family now worships with a fellowship of believers. The church community helped them financially to send the children to school. Their future is brighter than ever before. What a wonderful testimony to the power of God’s love and the community of God’s people.
Each of us has an opportunity to build a legacy for the Kingdom of God. Everything we do to place one more
person in contact with the Gospel is a significant investment in God’s Kingdom and in peoples’ lives.
Just a few weeks ago I met with partners and friends of EHC at evening receptions in Alberta and Saskatchewan. As I
shared testimonies of God at work through EHC I was keenly aware of being in the presence of many dear people who are building a very important legacy to God’s glory.
While opportunities abound, we feel the constant pressure of our limited capacity – the need for financial resources is great. Many of you have already been building a legacy through gifts and prayer for the advance of God’s Kingdom. We are so grateful you chose EHC as a partner in your legacy.
Every $100 invested in EHC ministry worldwide makes it possible to present Christ to homes where over one thousand people live. That’s just 10¢ a person! It’s one of the few things in our world that has not sky-rocketed in price.
The need is great… millions in Canada and around the world need to hear the Good News. I pray that more and more Canadian Christians will commit to help make Jesus known.
