I am continually amazed at the testimonies we receive from nations where EHC is at work. Again and again we hear astounding stories of transformation that began with a simple piece of gospel literature handed by one person to another.
The Gospel produces fruit and that fruit produces more fruit – indefinitely. One person whose life is touched by the Gospel of Christ can, in turn, affect the lives of thousands or millions, even in the most difficult and dangerous circumstances.
More than thirty years ago, a young man living in a restricted access nation, was given a printed gospel message by one of EHC’s co-workers. The young man was deeply touched by God’s personal love for him and he opened his heart to Jesus. He committed to Bible courses and diligently worked his way through each group of lessons. By God’s grace, he continued his education and became a pastor.
Today this brother is serving as coordinator of a fellowship of Christian denominations and churches numbering millions of believers. As I learned this I was struck by the potential of a life touched by the Gospel. Just one moment, one little booklet, a simple gospel message – and the seed was sown. As it took root, a leader of God’s people emerged. Today, his testimony and leadership is helping spread the Good News of Jesus beyond our imagination.
Thousands of men, women and children have come to Christ through this man’s ministry. Untold numbers of churches have been planted since that day, thirty years ago, when he received the gospel message personally in the form of a piece of literature.
The testimony of this man increases my resolve to do all that can be done to take the message of the Gospel to as many people, as many places and as quickly as possible. As we put the Good News into the hands of men, women and children, God follows it up transforming lives in ways that we never imagined.
The number of people coming to faith in Christ in restricted access nations today is a clear and strong reminder that the Gospel is indeed the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes. When Jesus said that the harvest is plentiful, he surely meant everywhere, every day!

India is another nation where believers share the Gospel at great risks. When EHC workers arrived in Thandagole during a recent outreach, they knew they might encounter opposition and that the village priest might stand in their way. As they pondered their strategy, they decided to start by reaching the priest himself! To their amazement, Patil, the village priest, gladly welcomed them when they knocked on his door.
One of the EHC team members gave Patil a gospel booklet and began sharing the Good News with him. When Patil heard that Jesus came into the world to die for the sins of everyone, he was eager to learn more. As they finished sharing the Gospel, Patil said, “I believe this and I want to receive Christ! Please, come and share this with all the people in my village.”
After sharing the Good News with the rest of the village, the EHC team began to disciple Patil, equipping him to lead others to Christ. In time, this village priest became a minister of the Gospel!
Paul proclaimed the Gospel as God’s solution for the profound spiritual need of humankind.
He saw the Gospel as God’s primary message for everyone, everywhere. From a young man living in a hostile restricted access nation to a village priest in India, the need is the same–to know Jesus and to be transformed by the power of His Gospel.
In Romans 1, Paul says that the Gospel is the power of God for salvation. With this, he says the essential. Think about it. A person who receives the message of the Gospel and places his or her faith in Christ is declared righteous and delivered from the powers of darkness and eternal death.
When it comes to the mission of the Church, God has already done the heavy lifting. Our task today is to faithfully spread His powerful Gospel. The Lord will confirm his Word with miraculous signs and, in many instances, it will be conversions that bear extraordinary fruit, touching thousands, even millions of other lives.
…to as many people as possible,
to as many places as possible, as
quickly as possible.
Your gifts and prayers are critical to enable willing workers all over the world to take the gospel message to people who have never heard of Jesus. These courageous men and women are going from house to house with the message of God’s love despite great personal risks. Their commitment to the rapid spread of the Lord’s message is undeterred by opposition and hostility.
God in His amazing grace brings forth fruit from your gifts and prayers together with the work done by others. It will be this way until the Lord returns.
Our co-workers are ready to expand their outreach throughout the CIS (the former Soviet Union), several dangerous areas of Asia, Africa and the Middle East. These co-workers are ready and waiting for our help.
I am grateful to be able to report that on a world average, the cost of reaching people with the gospel is very modest. When you give $100 we are able to present the gospel message to 1,000 people right in their home!
Whatever you are able to give is greatly appreciated. You will touch many lives with your offering.
Like the early Christian Church, you and I have received grace to go and share the Good News world-wide, calling each man, woman and child to obedience that comes from faith in Jesus’ name.
With faith in the power of the Gospel,
Denys Blackmore
President/CEO
P.S. Your gifts and prayers help ensure that the message of the Lord spreads rapidly. Thank you!
