Recent EHC Home-to-Home Campaigns reach over 1,000,000 people with the Gospel
At the opposite end of the western hemisphere— 10,000 kilometres away from Canada— our fellow Christ followers in Argentina are taking the Great Commission very seriously. They’re also taking to heart the EHC vision to reach every home with the Good News of Jesus. In a recent campaign, over 340 churches in the province of Santiago del Estero came together under auspices of EHC/Argentina to saturate their entire region with the Gospel.
People in all strata of society received the message. There was even a major initiative to connect with provincial leaders. EHC Director Rino Bello states, “The governor, representatives, senators, and influential people in the areas of justice, education, and business were reached with the gospel message. Our hope is that God-fearing leaders will have a positive impact on people throughout the province and across the nation.”
The home-to-home campaign in Santiago del Estero was a huge success, reaching more than one million people with the Gospel. Believers from the participating churches were also trained and equipped with gospel literature to visit hospital patients, prison inmates and military personnel. In the first wave of responses over 1,100 people have written to report their salvation testimonies and to make requests for Bible study materials.
Requests are still arriving daily at the EHC office in Buenos Aires. Beyond Santiago del Estero, similar Every Home Campaigns are spreading across the nation. An ongoing outreach to the Wichi Indians continues to bear fruit. The outreach is led by Pastor Francisco Mendez, a Wichi Indian who put his faith in Christ after reading a gospel booklet for children when he was a hospital patient. Francisco visited the EHC office in Buenos Aires and asked for materials so he could go back to his people and share the Good News. Through the ministry he began among his own people more than 4,500 Wichi Indians have left their pagan ways and put their trust in Jesus. Rino Bello has also helped bring humanitarian aid from the government to the Wichi and other impoverished Indian communities.
Francisco Mendez recently led an outreach to the Indian town of Sauzalito, where more than 200 people accepted Christ. The outreach began in dramatic fashion when Francisco visited a woman who had been bedridden for several months and treated by local witch doctors with no result. He shared the Gospel with the woman and with her family, leading them all to Christ. Then Francisco prayed for healing. “I prayed for the elderly woman and God performed a miracle and healed her instantly,” Francisco reports.
Nationwide, EHC campaigns have generated over 456,000 responses to the Gospel. Christ Groups (fledgling churches) have also been formed in 120 locations, including Wichi villages that had never had a church before.
Pray for EHC/Argentina Director Rino Bello, for other leaders like Francisco Mendez, and for the thousands of volunteer workers who are doing their best to take the Good News of Jesus to every home in Argentina.
